My Name is Leesa, owner and designer of Millie Couture, located in the heart of Salisbury, at Money and Millie Studios, a beautiful creative space.

After graduating with a Fashion and Textile degree in 2003 I started a dressmaking business form the grounds of my home, doing alterations for bridal boutiques, learning very valuable experience working with London designers and then went on to design and make for my own for clients and learning about pattern cutting for all shapes and sizes.

What is Couture and Made to measure?

Couture is a French word meaning " Dressmaking" or 'Sewing" and refers to the creating of exclusive, custom made, high end fashion. Made to measure is also connected and adjective "specially made to fit a particular person"

Why choose Couture and Made to measure?

I specialize in Couture bridal and special occasion wear and make everything from my design studio. ​After working with standard sized gowns I found that there are hundreds of designers but"Off the peg" comes with its pros and cons, it enables a client to see if a design is suitable but is not made especially for the client, it will need alterations to fit perfectly after adding on cost. Couture/ made to measure however can come at a price but will ensure you have the perfect fit and yo are part of the deign process from day one.

Looking ahead

I have now been in the bridal industry for 25 years, and I am also a technical instructor for a fashion design course. I am passionate about creating beautiful wearable clothing and I absolutely love everything to do with design, from a sketch pad and initial idea to prototypes ' Toiles" seeing brides for fittings, completed dress, to creating new designs for new collections and photo shoots.

​I am determined to create and grow my Mother of the bride collection adding something special and not yet available in Wiltshire
